Air-Conditioner Services — Installation, Upgrade & Ongoing Support
When summer hits and the heat rises, your cooling system has to perform. At 911 Mechanical, we provide complete air-conditioning solutions — from choosing the ideal system to installing it, maintaining it, and supporting it for years. We serve both homes and businesses in the Metro Detroit area and surrounding suburbs with professional, reliable service.
Time for a New Air Conditioner?
If your current system struggles to maintain comfortable temperatures during hot & humid Michigan summers, it may be time to upgrade. We install high-performance, energy-efficient air conditioners across all major brands — ensuring you get the right size system for your space, and long-term savings on energy bills.
Making The Right Decision
Choosing the Right AC System
Selecting the right air conditioner is about balancing three key factors: comfort, efficiency, and cost. Whether you’re looking for a dependable, budget-friendly model or top-tier performance with ultra-efficiency, we’ll guide you through your options
Single-Stage Air Conditioners
Simple, reliable, affordable.
Operate at full power when cooling is needed, then shut off once set temperature is reached.
Newer single-stage models are much more efficient than older systems.
Two-Stage Air Conditioners
A great mid-tier option: mostly run at a lower setting (saving energy), but ramp up to full power when needed on hotter days.
More consistent comfort, fewer hot/cold swings, better humidity control.
Variable-Capacity / Modulating Air Conditioners
The high-end option: system constantly adjusts output to match the demand, rather than simple on/off.
Quieter, smoother operation, better comfort, improved humidity control and lower energy bills.
Higher upfront cost — but the long-term savings and comfort make up for it.
Understanding Efficiency & Refrigerant Changes
Look for SEER2 ratings (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, second generation) on modern units — the higher the number, the more efficient the system. For example, new units range from ~13 seer 2, to over 25 seer 2 rated systems.
Refrigerant change alert: All new units use the 454b refrigerant.
Upgrading your AC system now can lock in savings, better efficiency and compliance with future regulations.

Design → Installation → Ongoing Support
Consultation & Design
We assess your property’s cooling needs: size of space, insulation, usage patterns, climate conditions.
Perform proper load calculations (not guesswork) to ensure correct system sizing and avoid oversizing/undersizing.
Present options that meet your comfort goals, energy-savings targets and budget.
Professional Installation
Licensed technicians install your unit with precision: correct refrigerant charge, proper airflow, correct ductwork (if applicable).
Filter, thermostat and control integration optimized.
Full walkthrough after installation so you understand how to operate the system, adjust schedules, and access smart features.
Commissioning & Start-Up
We test and validate system performance: cooling output, airflow, thermostat response, refrigerant pressures.
We verify refrigerant type, duct/coil cleanliness and that your system complies with current standards.
Maintenance & Performance Monitoring
Regular service visits to clean coils, inspect and adjust components, check refrigerant levels and tighten connections.
Offered maintenance plans that help prolong system life and maintain efficiency (see our VIP Maintenance Program).
As part of ongoing support, we monitor changes in codes/refrigerants and advise when system upgrades are needed.
